Join Chinese-American Museum of Chicago showcase the documentary series, Cha Ma Go Da (English title Asian Corridor in Heaven). It is a series about ancient Tea and Horse Road (Chama Gadao) in Southwest China, which was a highland trade route that connects Yunnan to Tibet and to other Southeast Asian countries. Among many items traded, tea and horses were the most important, thus named tea-horse road. The series was produced by Korean Broadcasting System (KBS) and was aired in 2007 in Korea. It was later reproduced into theater version and was released in 2008.

10 AM- 12 PM Opening and Community Tabling - Event opening with a traditional Chinese lion dance performance by the Chicago Chinese Cultural Center. Over 10 community organizations will be sharing information about their resources.

11 AM - 12 PM Community Planting Help plant over 12,000 native plants in the natural area! Gloves and tools will be provided. Be sure to wear comfortable footwear and clothing.

11 AM - 3 PM Nature Oasis Kids of all ages can enjoy nature activities such as bug hunts, fish-themed art, birding 101 and a pop-up play area with natural materials for kids to experiment and investigate with guided creative play.

12 PM - 1 PM Lunch Bring your own lunch and blanket to enjoy a community picnic!

12 PM - 3 PM Urban Kayaks Chinatown Urban Kayaks Chinatown will be offering kayak rentals at a discounted rate of $10 per person! Shedd Aquarium will be hosting an Animal Meet-and-Greet between 12:30pm - 2:00pm

1 PM - 3 PM Slow Roll Chicago Bike Ride Bring your bike and join the 7 mile (roundtrip) bike ride from Ping Tom Park to the natural areas of the Burnham Wildlife Corridor, featuring Set in Stone: a gathering space designed in partnership with the Chinese American Museum of Chicago. Followed by a visit to Shedd Aquarium’s Migratory Bird Garden before returning to Ping Tom Park. Don't forget to bring your helmet!
