CAMOC Stands with African American Communities

The Chinese American Museum of Chicago stands with the African American communities to mourn the deaths of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery, and countless others to denounce racism, injustice and inequality.

As Chinese Americans, we know well in history of the racism and injustice of the Chinese Exclusion Act of 1882, massacres and driven out of Chinese communities in the 1800’s, Vincent Chin’s murder in 1982 and the continuing racism against Asians during the coronavirus pandemic.

We stand in solidarity with the black community to appeal for an end to racism, injustice and inequality.
