April 30: Adoptee Identity, Are We Asian American Too?

Join us for a discussion with Sarah Whyte, Danae Kovac, and Joy Messinger on understanding adoptees’ identity. This is an in-person event.

Date: Sunday, April 30th 2023

Time: 2-3:30pm

Location: Chinese American Museum of Chicago, 238 W 23rd St. Chicago, IL 60616

This panel works toward understanding adoptees’ relationship to the Asian American Community. They seek to examine, where does the complications of being a person of color raised by white parents leave you? Are Asian adoptees Asian American too? Through this panel, we hope to bring conversation around both the adoptee and Asian American community and create inclusivity.

This panel will be an hour long and will end with a 30-minute Q&A.
