The Chinese American Museum of Chicago (CAMOC) is troubled and saddened by the racially motivated killings of 8 individuals in Atlanta on Tuesday March 17th, including 6 Asian American Women. We stand together with the AAPI community in solidarity to denounce the escalating violence against the Asian American community.
Since the start of COVID-19 pandemic we have seen a significant increase in violent attacks and harassment toward Asian Americans. Sadly, anti-Asian racism isn’t something new. Centuries of anti-Asian racism in the United States have led to this moment.
So what can we do? We can stand together and fight against systemic racism and hate. Come join us for a rally against hate crimes in Chicago’s Chinatown in front of the Chinatown library on March 27 at 2pm. Chinese American Museum of Chicago (CAMOC) fully supports this and is one of co-sponsors of the event.
